Merry Christmas in the eyes of a child

I love the eyes of Children especially this time of year. They sparkle and warm the heart. This is one of my beautiful grandsons. Even though it is not a posed image, it makes my heart smile to see his eyes full of childhood wonderment. I love children they are what keeps us all grounded. This year, my wish is all of you can find peace and love in the eyes of the children. They are full of love and joy. I know there are many who's parents have had a bad run of luck this year, but I hope the children will find joy and warmth this season and always. I hope with all my heart that the children of the world are happy and loved.

In the words of a wise man, Francis Pharcellus Church, "Yes, Virginia there is a Santa Claus". I encourage all of you who have forgotten the meaning of Christmas to look around and find someway to bring the true spirit of the season back to our hearts. The meaning of giving far exceeds the monetary gifts that are given. The gifts of ourselves are what will make this world a happy place to live.

These beautiful swans were sitting on the ice starting to cover the river. A dear friend called me and I hurried down with my camera. These beautiful birds were waiting for me to capture them on my digital camera. The father of this family was wisely keeping a watchful eye. The children trustfully resting between their parents waiting for any signal of danger. Most of the time their heads were tucked under a wing and they seem to be sleeping on the ice. I am sure Mother Teresa would have approved of her quote placed with these creatures of that belong to God.

Here is one of the collages I put together for this family. We had a great time in spite of the nippy weather. This sweet family has a lot of fun being together.

The weather is turning cooler and with the beautiful browns and auburn colors the background is beautiful.

I was privileged to do a photo shoot for Dr. Monika Buerger. We are lucky to have her in our area. Good luck to her. She will be opening her Wellness Center sometime in January.

ABOUT DR. BUERGER:
Dr. Buerger established a highly successful private family practice in Northern California from 1992 until early 2009. She has now brought her expertise to Southeastern Idaho with a clinic in Ammon, Idaho specializing in Neurodevelopmental Disorders and healthy pregnancies. In her experience, along with a vast amount of research, she has found that many children who are diagnosed with ADD/ADHD, dyslexia, and various other Autism Spectrum Disorders and learning disorders have co-existing Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD). She has found that many children and adults with SPD are misunderstood and often misdiagnosed and that they may be prescribed unnecessary medications and/or are not receiving proper treatment.
Armed with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree and a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology, she has developed a highly successful program for treating such disorders. She is a former instructor for Life Chiropractic College-West in Hayward, California. She is currently on the postgraduate faculty of several chiropractic colleges nation wide and teaches internationally for the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. She is also a contributing author to the text book Pediatric Chiropractic, Volume I and Volume II; with chapters on Pediatric History and Physical Exam, Neurodevelopmental Disorders, and Sensory Processing Disorder. Her mission is to educate as many parents, teachers, and other health professionals as possible- spreading hope for a brighter tomorrow.

Don't miss the last few days of warmer weather. It won't be long until we will be putting on our snow boots, mittens and making snowmen. We have been busy getting our 6 acre yard ready for a blanket of snow. Then I look forward to the colorful flowers that pop their heads up welcoming us again to spring. It amazes me how fast the seasons come and go. That is why we shouldn't wait to capture those precious moments with beautiful portraits. Fill your home with art that is your family.

The lighting this time of year is fantastic late in the afternoon. Families and high school seniors will love the warm tones in the light. There is a brisk coolness to air and that just adds to the ambiance of the image. It will not be long until the ground is covered with a blanket of white so we need to hurry and catch the last of the golds, beautiful browns and crimson colors.

The winter is fading fast

The spring is coming and I am hoping for color other than just white. Actually the color isn't white right now, it is a grey and brown and mush. I love capturing the moments with children and teens.
